The Bates men's swimming and diving team topped Trinity College on Saturday, 161-123, and the Bobcats probably couldn't have done it without Qua, a senior co-captain.Qua (Cambridge, N.Y.) was a winner in two individual events, as well as part of Bates' victorious 200-yard medley relay team (1:45.73), along with first-year Chris Berry, first-year Josh Goldfarb and senior John Bauer.

The versatile Qua also captured first place in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.43) and in the 100 backstroke (1:07.62).

Bates competes at Bowdoin College on Tuesday, Dec. 7, in its last meet before semester break.

Annie Barton '08
Out of many impressive performances in Bates' women's swimming and diving team's 178-121 dual-meet win over Trinity on Saturday, Bates sophomore Annie Barton came to the fore by winning three individual events and one relay.Barton (Holladay, Utah) was first in the 200-yard freestyle (with a finals time of 2:04.38), the 100 free (56.14) and the 200 individual medley (2:18.71). She also swam a leg on the winning 200 medley relay team (1:57.27), along with sophomore Emilie Swenson, sophomore Meghan Conley, and senior co-captain Katie Gatti.

Bates swims at Bowdoin College on Tuesday night, Dec. 7, in its last meet before the semester break.
