Stockwell posted double-doubles in all three games of Bates' 3-0 week, as the Bates men's basketball team extended its school-record win streak to 14 games last week.At UMaine-Farmington on Jan. 24 he scored a career-high 31 points to go with 10 rebounds. Then in Bates' win over Conn College on Jan. 27, Stockwell became the 26th Bates man to reach 1,000 career points. Needing 13 to reach the mark, he scored 19 points with 10 rebounds.
Saturday against Wesleyan, he had 14 points and 10 rebounds, his ninth double-double of the year, for a three-game average of 21.3 points and 10.3 rebounds.
Stockwell was recognized as Player of the Week by the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches Association.

Senior co-captain Ashley Wentworth (North Andover, Mass.) highlighted the Bobcats' day Saturday at the USM Co-ed Invitational at the University of Southern Maine.The senior co-captain from North Andover, Mass., returned from inaction due to nagging preseason injuries with a winning performance in the 800 meters at the meet. Wentworth's time of 2:20.93 is the third best all-time by a Bates runner, and qualified her to compete at the New England Open championships, and therefore for the New England Division III championships and ECAC championships as well.
The Bates College women's track and field team placed second out of six teams in the meet. The Bobcats scored 164 points, outpacing Smith (81), Emmanuel (58), UMass-Dartmouth (48) and Rhode Island College (40), and losing to the host Huskies (216).
Wentworth and the Bobcats host the women's indoor State of Maine Championship Friday at 6 p.m. inside Merrill Gymnasium.
