Junior Devin Dilts(Roscoe, Ill.) earned All-New England honors (top 35 at the meet) for the second straight year on Saturday at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Cross Country Championships, finishing the 8-kilometer course at Twinbrook Recreational Area in Cumberland in 25:52.5, good for 17th place overall out of 323 competitors.Led by All-New England performances from its two captains (senior Doug Brecher also earned his second career All-New England honors with a career-best 27th-place showing), Bates took 10th place out of 48 teams.

Dilts narrowly missed the chance to compete at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, but nonetheless earned All-State, All-NESCAC and All-New England honors in a terrific season.

Led by senior Esther Kendall'sAll-New England performance, the Bates College women's cross country team took 11th place out of 47 teams Saturday at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Southern Maine at Twinbrook Recreation Area. The Bobcats scored 317 points to edge Tufts (327) for 11th place.Kendall (Ridgeway, Ontario) placed 34th out of 315 competitors overall with a time of 22:53.7 over 6 kilometers, earning her first All-New England honors, which go to the top 35 finishers at the meet. Kendall is Bates' first All-Region women's cross country runner since former All-American Kathryn Moore '07 in 2006.

It is the third straight year Kendall has posted the Bobcats' best time at the New England championships. In 2007 she finished 47th overall, and in 2008 she was 43rd.
