Bates senior attacker Joan O'Neill is possibly the most unstoppable scorer in the best women's lacrosse conference in Division III, and she continued to underscore that point last week.
In Tuesday's 14-6 win over Endicott, O'Neill netted three goals with one assist; in Saturday's 14-8 loss at No. 5 Trinity, O'Neill found the back of the net four times and again added an assist.
O'Neill (Westwood, Mass.) has led the Bobcats in goals in all six of their games thus far, and she has scored at least three goals in each outing. The 2011 NESCAC scoring champion in terms of points per game again leads the conference in that category, at 4.83 (0.50 ahead of second-place Lara Kozin of Tufts).
After becoming Bates' all-time assists leader in the first game of this season, O'Neill's record now stands at 55 career assists. She is now only eight points away from tying the all-time team record in that category, currently held by Molly Wagner '08 at 182.
O'Neill and the No. 19 nationally ranked Bobcats play at rival and 11th-ranked Bowdoin on Wednesday at 7pm (Live Stats), then at NESCAC foe Williams on Saturday at 11am.
