43 Bates student-athletes named NESCAC Spring All-Academic

HADLEY, Mass. -- Forty-three student-athletes from Bates College were named Spring 2010 All-Academic selections by the New England Small College Athletic Conference, announced by the NESCAC on Wednesday.

To be eligible, a student must be a junior or senior, a varsity letter winner and have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.35 or better.

Junior women's track and field standout Dana Lindauer (Needham, Mass.) has the distinction of being one of 10 student-athletes in the conference to receive NESCAC All-Conference, All-Sportsmanship and All-Academic recognition. Six others, along with Lindauer, received NESCAC All-Conference honors this season for their athletic feats -- senior Vantiel Elizabeth Duncan (women's track and field), junior Sara Ellen Godek (women's track and field), senior James Grant (men's rowing), junior Ryan Heide (baseball), senior Glenn Kelly (men's rowing) and junior Jacob Simon (baseball).

Bates' list also includes 20 seniors who are repeat NESCAC All-Academic awardees from the 2009 spring season: Katie Bash, Maxwell Berger, Carlos Castro, Nicolas DeFrancis, Molly Dilworth, Danica Doroski, Katlelyn Drake, Duncan, Godek, Lily Gordon, Jean Gulliver, Haynes Johnston, Dan LaFontaine, Jean McIntyre, Ngoc Pham, Molly Radis, Michael Reiss, Nicholas Sampson, Griffin Stabler, Luke Strathmann and Lindsay Thomson.
