HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates senior kicker Grant DeWald was named NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week on Sunday after accounting for nine points in the Bobcats' 27-24 win at Colby.

DeWald (Duxbury, Mass.) made field goals from 29 and 18 yards and hit all three of his extra-point attempts in the game, as Bates defeated Colby for the fourth straight season. He has made seven straight field goal attempts dating through last season, including a career-long 43-yarder at wesleyan on Oct. 14.

DeWald becomes Bates' first NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week since punter Justin Foley (Lynnfield, Mass.) received the award on Nov. 1, 2015.

Bates (1-6) hosts Bowdoin (0-7) this Saturday at 12:30pm, with a chance to capture a fourth consecutive CBB (Colby-Bates-Bowdoin) outright championship for the first time in team history.
