CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Bates forward Taylor Lough received Second Team All-Region honors Monday from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, following her outstanding sophomore season.

Lough (Little Compton, R.I.) was named Division III All-New England West Region by the NFHCA, after leading the Bobcats in assists (7) and points (19) while ranking second in goals (6). Season highlights include a one-goal, one-assist performance in Bates' upset 3-2 overtime win at No. 8 Babson on Oct. 12 and her two-goal, one-assist game against Colby in the Bobcats' regular-season finale, a 4-1 victory.

Bates finished the 2016 season with its first winning record since 1999, at 9-7.

Lough's award gives Bates' 2017 squad three current or former NFHCA All-Region selections -- she joins defender Delaney Nalen '18, a 2014 Second Team selection, and midfielder Caroline O'Reilly '18, a 2014 and 2015 Second Team pick.
