Golf team is first and second at CBB Championship

OAKLAND, Maine -- The Bates College golf team took first place on the women's side and second on the men's side Saturday at the CBB Golf Championship, held at the Waterville Country Club.

Senior Dana Lee (New York, N.Y.) won women's medalist honors, shooting an 83. She teamed up with first-year Whitney Roller (Haverford, Pa.), who shot a 92, for a aggregate score of 175, three better than Colby's duo of Jessica Vogel and Jackie Page. Bowdoin was third at 199.

The Bates men notched a four-man score of 338, behind Bowdoin's 309 and ahead of Colby's 345. Junior Jake Cox led the Bobcats with an 80, followed by first-year Kurt Schuler (Jackson, N.H.) with an 81, senior Chris Foster (Scarsdale, N.Y.) with an 82 and sophomore Jeremy Rogalski (West Springfield, Mass.) at 95.

The Bates golf team plays at its third tournament in as many days Sunday at the Husson College Tournament.
