BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The Bates College golf team capped its season Sunday with a CBB championship, defeating Bowdoin by seven strokes and Colby by 15 with a five-player cumulative score of 414 at Brunswick Golf Club.
First-year Mike Kelen (Baltimore, Md.) carded a 79 to pace the Bobcats, followed closely by junior Jeremy Rogalski (West Springfield, Mass.) with an 82, senior Jake Cox (Sammamish, Wash.) with an 84, first-year John Canney (North Clarendon, Vt.) with an 84 and junior Tom Bowden (Falmouth, Maine) with an 85.
The Bates women also played on Sunday, competing against Bowdoin in a scramble format at Highland Green Golf Course in Topsham, Maine. Bates shot a two-under-par 68 to top the Polar Bears by three strokes. Playing for Bates in the match were sophomore Whitney Roller (Haverford, Pa.), junior Elizabeth Wilcox (South Glastonbury, Conn.), first-year Christine McCall (Lowell, Mass.) and senior Allison Mann (Los Angeles, Calif.).
