Women's golfers outshoot Polar Bears

AUBURN, Maine -- The Bates College women's golf team defeated Bowdoin College in a dual match Saturday hosted by Bates at Prospect Hill Golf Course. With the top four players from each team entering the scoring, Bates won 375-416.

Chelsea Gross shot an 87 for the Polar Bears to earn medalist honors for the day. Bates had the next four finishers in sophomore Tessa Pals (Wilmette, Ill.; 91), sophomore Mimi Neal (Danvers, Mass.; 93), senior Whitney Roller (Haverford, Pa.; 95) and sophomore Brigid Dunn (Milford, Ohio; 96).

The Bates men's golfers are at the Maine Intercollegiate Championships Sept. 25-26; the women are next in action in a scramble against Bowdoin scheduled for Oct. 3 at Prospect Hill.
