WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Bates women's golf team finished in ninth place out of 10 teams at the highly competitive Williams Fall Classic, which concluded on Sunday at Taconic Country Club. In the NESCAC portion of the tournament, Bates placed fifth, behind Williams, Amherst, Middlebury and Bowdoin.
The tournament marks the end of the season for the Bates women's squad; the men's golf team competes at the NEIGA Championships next weekend in Brewster, Mass.
Junior Tessa Pals (Wilmette, Ill.) led Bates with a two-day score of 190, good for a tie for 28th place out of 48 players overall. Pals shot a 93 on Sunday, the lowest round by a Bates player in the tournament.
Junior Brigid Dunn (Milford, Ohio) tied for 31st place, carding a 195 after a first-day score of 95. Junior Monica Berube (Plaistow, N.H.) and senior Libby King (South Portland, Maine) recorded scores of 224 and 256, respectively.
Bates' aggregate score of 865 outpaced Westfield State's 884.
