Emily Plotnikov tops for women’s golf on day one at Williams Classic

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – First-year Emily Plotnikov shot a team-best 92 for Bates College women's golf, and the Bobcats sit in 13th place after the first day of the Williams Fall Classic at Taconic Golf Club.

Middlebury leads the 15-team field with a first round total of 313. Bates shot 410 as a team on day one with Plotnikov (Brooklyn, N.Y.) leading the way.

Senior Jordan Banez (Fredericksburg, Va.) completed the day second on the team with a 103 while sophomore Elizabeth LaVerghetta (Norton, Mass.), sophomore Jessica Plotnikov (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and first-year Sarah Centanni (Hingham, Mass.) followed with scores of 105, 110, and 111 respectively. 

Bates returns to play at Taconic Golf Club tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. in its final scheduled competition for the season.
