HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates College senior Will Katz earned All-Conference recognition for the second straight year, as the New England Small College Athletic Conference released the 2011 NESCAC Men's and Women's Squash All-Conference Teams on Thursday.

Katz (Bronxville, N.Y.) was one of 10 players named First Team All-NESCAC -- a year ago he earned Second Team honors.

A second-year team captain, Katz went 14-8 on the year while playing for the majority of his matches at the No. 1 position on the ladder, pitting him against each opponent's top player. He finished his career with 53 victories and only 23 losses. In the final match of his career, Katz paced Bates' 6-3 win over Navy at the College Squash Association Team Nationals, coming back from a two-game deficit to defeat the Midshipmen's Allan Lutz, 9-11, 9-11, 12-10, 11-9, 15-13.

Katz was joined on the All-NESCAC women's team by sophomore Cheri-Ann Parris (St. Philip, Barbados), who made the First Team, and first-year Samantha Matos (New York, N.Y.), who was named to the Second Team.
