HADLEY, Mass. -- Senior Ahmed Abdel Khalek won an unprecedented fourth NESCAC Men's Squash Player of the Year award, as the Bates men's squash team captured three all-conference honors and head coach Pat Cosquer gained Co-Coach of the Year recognition Thursday from the New England Small College Athletic Conference.

Cosquer shares coach of the year honors with Trinity's Paul Assaiante. Junior Ahmed Hatata (Alexandria, Egypt) joined Abdel Khalek (Cairo, Egypt) for a third straight year on the All-NESCAC First Team, while junior Darrius Campbell (St. Stephen, S.C.) received Second Team All-NESCAC honors for the second time in his career.

Cosquer led the Bobcats to their first finals appearance in the 10-year history of the NESCAC Men's Squash Championship tournament, where Bates fell 7-2 to Trinity. It was the closest-ever finals score, and Trinity's closest-ever defeat, in the history of the tournament. Bates finished 15-7 in 2015-16 with the Summers Cup for winning the C Division at the CSA Team Nationals last weekend.

This is Cosquer's third NESCAC Coach of the Year honor in eight years, and his second for men's squash.

Abdel Khalek has won 62 consecutive matches at the No. 1 position in Bates' lineup since the start of his sophomore year, including the 2015 CSA men's individual championship. He is the first squash player to win the award four times and the first Bates athlete to win a NESCAC Player of the Year honor four times.

Hatata is on a remarkable winning streak of his own, with a 21-0 mark this season, with 19 wins at the No. 2 spot in the lineup and two wins at No. 1. The two-time CSA All-American was also the 2014 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, after Abdel Khalek gained the same honor in 2013.

Campbell mounted a 12-8 individual record this season largely at the No. 3 position, with three wins at No. 2.

All three Bobcats are expected to play at CSA Individual Nationals, taking place at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Conn., March 4-6.
