WATERVILLE, Maine -- Bates College senior Amrit Rupasinghe (Colombo, Sri Lanka) won at first singles and teamed with senior Michael Reiss for a victory at first doubles in a 9-0 win over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference men’s tennis Monday.

Reiss (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) also cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win at second singles for the Bobcats, who raised their record to 3-1 overall and now stand 1-0 in conference play. Seniors Max Berger (Concord, N.H.) and Zach Fenno (Armonk, N.Y.) also had little trouble in winning at third and fourth singles, respectively.

The Mules are 1-1 on the spring season.

Bates next plays host to Brandeis in a non-conference match on Saturday at 12 p.m.
