No. 15 men's tennis wins big at Colby, 8-1

WATERVILLE, Maine -- The 15th-ranked Bates College men's tennis team won all three doubles matches and sophomore Timmy Berg won at first singles in an 8-1 victory over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Wednesday.

Bates, ranked fifth in the Northeast, moves to 6-5 overall and 3-2 in the NESCAC, while the Mules, ranked 13th in the region, fall to 10-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

The Bobcats are now 20-1 in doubles play over their past seven matches, helping them to a team record of 7-1 in that time.

Bates plays at its other CBB rival, ninth-ranked Bowdoin, on Friday at 3:30pm.
