HADLEY, Mass. -- The Bates men's tennis team earned the fourth seed in this weekend's NESCAC Men's Tennis Championship, and will face fifth-seeded Wesleyan as its first-round opponent at Amherst on Friday at 9am.
The match winner will advance to the conference semifinals against host and top seed Amherst on Saturday.
The Bobcats (9-8, 6-4 NESCAC) just defeated the Cardinals (7-9, 5-4 NESCAC) yesterday 6-3 in Lewiston to complete both teams' regular seasons. Wesleyan is making its first-ever appearance in the postseason tournament, while Bates is making its sixth appearance in the eight years since the tournament began its six-team format.
