Men's track and field opens outdoor season at Division I Maine

ORONO, Maine -- Reigning NCAA Division III indoor shot put champion David Pless won the shot put and the discus throw, two of seven winning performances for the Bates men's track and field team on Sunday as they opened the outdoor season with a dual non-scoring meet at Division I Maine.

Pless (Atlanta, Ga.) took first place in the shot put at 52-04.00, meeting provisional qualification for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May and moving into second place on Bates' all-time performance list in the outdoor shot put.
