2016-17: Named New England Division III Field Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Indoor Highlights: Got off to an impressive start to his junior year with first-place finishes in the shot put (46-6.75) and weight throw (54-4) against MIT and Colby.... Won the weight throw with a top mark of 57-0.25, nearly six feet beyond runner-up Shane Corbett of Maine at the Bates Invitational.... Moved into second place on the national performance list on the season with a season-best weight throw effort of 60-1, Fakorede also had a personal-best indoor shot put mark of 47-10.5 at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University.... Won the weight throw (57-9.75) and placed second in the shot put (46-8.75) to help Bates win the Maine State Men's Indoor Championship.... Recorded a top weight throw of 58-11.25 and a top shot put of 47-8.5 at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational.... Took second place in the weight throw with a top effort of 59-1.25, recorded on his first attempt of the day at the New England Division III Men's Indoor Championships.... His second-place and season-best performance in the 35-pound weight throw (60-3.75) fueled the Bates men's track and field team to 13th place out of 32 scoring teams at the two-day, all-divisions Open New Englands.... Became a two-time All-American with a fourth-place finish in the 35-pound weight throw at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, matched his performance at the NCAA Championships from a year ago with a season-best throw of 18.83 meters.... Fakorede joins David Pless '13 and Lucas Adams '00 as the only Bates men's throwers to finish in the top five twice in the 35-pound weight throw at the NCAA Championships.... He is the sixth Bates men's thrower to earn at least two All-American finishes in the event and the first since Sean Enos '15.

Outdoor Highlights: Claimed first place in the discus throw with a top effort of 159-8, second in the shot put and fourth in the hammer throw against Maine and New Hampshire.... Won the hammer throw in 160-5, also won the shot put and placed second in the discus throw (166-3) against MIT, Tufts and RPI.... Placed second in the discus throw (151-6), fourth in the shot put (49-1) and fourth in the hammer throw (165-5) at the UNH Wildcat Invitational.... Came away as state champion in three throwing events: the shot put (49-04.25), the discus (159-06) and the hammer (179-11) on his way to capturing the Tootel Memorial Award as the most valuable field athlete for the second straight year, as the host Bobcats placed second out of six scoring teams at the 118th Maine State Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.... Won both the discus throw (162-09) and hammer throw (189-09) and placed third in the shot put (50-08.25) to lead the Bobcats to fifth place in the NESCAC Championships.... Won the hammer throw title on the first full day of the New England Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.... On the second day, he set personal records in the discus throw (167-08) and shot put (52-04.50), finishing first in the former event and third in the latter.... Placed fourth in the discus throw as the only Division III athlete among the top 11 in the event at Open New Englands.... Fakorede's top attempt in the discus throw at the MIT Final Qualifying Meet soared 177 feet and 9 inches, 10 feet and 1 inch beyond his previous career best of 167-8, leapfrogging him over Nathaniel Wheatley '91 and Sean Enos '15 for second place on Bates' all-time list.... Placed 19th in the discus and 17th in the hammer throw at the NCAA Championships.
