BOSTON -- The Bates College men's cross country team came in 18th out of 43 teams total and sixth among Division III teams Saturday at the Open New England Championships, held at Franklin Park.
"This was a very, very good race for us," said Bates coach Al Fereshetian. "it gives us momentum heading into the second half of the cross country season."
Bates senior Steve Monsulick (Kents Hill, Maine) came in 17th overall and third among all Division III runners, finishing the 8K course in 25:14.
Junior Matt Dunlap (Farmington, Maine) was 81st out of 303 runners, finishing in 25:54. First-year Conor Welch (Newburyport, Mass.) came through with a 105th-place time of 26:04, junior Harrison Little (Hanover, N.H.) was 123rd at 26:13, and first-year Dylan McGuffin (Northfield, N.H.) was 153rd in 26:35. Junior Andrew Percy (Woodbridge, Conn.) was Bates' sixth man, with a 178th-place time of 26:51.
Bates heads to Bowdoin on Saturday for the State of Maine Championships.
