Women's rowing goes 6-0 on Malden River

MALDEN, Mass. -- The No. 2 nationally ranked Bates women's rowing team went 6-0 in six head-to-head races on the Malden River Saturday, meanwhile winning all six races by at least nine seconds.

In head-to-head competition against sixth-ranked Wellesley, the Bobcats' first varsity eight outrowed Wellesley 6:51.5 to 7:03.9, while the 2V8 race went 7:07.2 to 7:21.5 in Bates' favor.

Bates fielded four boats in head-to-head races against Wesleyan, winning the 1V8 race 6:41.61 to 7:03.0, the 2V8 race 7:04.8 to 7:19.5, the 3V8 race 7:14.9 to 7:24.5 and the novice fours 7:57.5 to 8:40.5.

Bates will host the Presidents Cup, taking on Colby and Bowdoin on Sunday, April 22 at the Bates Boathouse in Greene.
