CENTERVILLE, Mass. -- Bates rowing standouts Gabriella Bilotta and Peter Haley won recognition Tuesday as the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced the 2013 All-ECAC NIRC Rowing Team.

Bilotta (Washington, D.C.) is a junior team captain and coxswain on the Bates women's varsity eight. This is her second honor following the National Invitational Rowing Championship, held May 12 in Worcester, Mass., where the Bobcat WV8 finished second in the grand final to win the silver medal. The ECAC/NIRC regatta also doubles as the NESCAC Rowing Championships, and Bilotta received All-NESCAC honors for the second straight year last week.

Haley (Cos Cob, Conn.), who also won All-ECAC honors in 2011, helped the Bates men's varsity eight to its third-ever appearance in the grand final at the NIRC/ECAC regatta, where the Bobcat MV8 placed sixth. The senior captain also picked up his third straight All-NESCAC award last week.

Previous Bates All-ECAC awardees:

2012: Elizabeth Sonshine, Oliver Scholle
2011: Rebecca Waldo, Peter Haley
2010: Danica Doroski, Corey Sanderson
