Yanofsky named Maine's Co-Player of the Week

Lauren Yanofsky '10 earned Maine Co-Player of the Week honors from the MWBCA.

LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates senior forward Lauren Yanofsky was named the state's Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday by the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA), sharing the honor with Bowdoin's Katie Bergeron.

Yanofsky (Belmont, Mass.) led the Bobcats to a 2-0 weekend in NESCAC road games at Connecticut College and Wesleyan University. Yanofsky scored a career-high 23 points against the Camels, and over the two games she averaged 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocked shots, meanwhile shooting 17-for-34 (.500) from the field.

It is the first time in her career that Yanofsky has received this particular honor, though she was named MWBCA Rookie of the Week in December 2006. Yanofsky has also twice received NESCAC Player of the Week honors over her career, including earlier this season on Dec. 14, 2009.
