Annie Burns '12 shared Maine Player of the Week honors for the second time in her college basketball career.

LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College junior guard Annie Burns (Topsfield, Mass.) was cited Monday as Co-Player of the Week by the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association, sharing the award with Courtney Cochran of Southern Maine.

Burns led Bates to a 3-0 week, averaging 6.0 points, 8.3 assists, 4.3 steals and 2.7 rebounds per game. The junior point guard and team captain logged a team-high 107 minutes on the week but committed only five turnovers. Burns hit the game-winning free throws in Bates' big comeback victory over the University of New England on Monday and added 10 assists in the game.

Burns leads the NESCAC by a wide margin this season in assists per game (7.54) and assist-to-turnover ratio (3.06) and is second in the conference in steals (3.54).

It is the second time in Burns' career being named Maine Co-Player of the Week. She achieved the same honor on Dec. 8, 2009.
