LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates first-year Molly Brown won Maine Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season, the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday.
Brown (South Dartmouth, Mass.) averaged 13.0 points and 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 blocked shots and 1.0 steals per game for Bates, as the Bobcats went 1-2 on the week. She scored a team-high 16 points against Trinity on Saturday, including 14 points on 4-of-7 behind the three-point arc in the second half, to go along with four rebounds, one block, and one steal. For the week, Brown the 5-foot-9 forward made14-of-29 shots from the floor and made six threes in nine attempts (.667) in the three games.
Though she had to miss six games early this season, Brown has also earned Maine Rookie of the Week honors on both Jan. 9 and Jan. 16.
