LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates senior Allie Beaulieu was named Maine Co-Player of the Week on Monday by the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association, sharing the honor with University of New England senior Beth Suggs after leading the Bobcats in a 1-1 week.
Beaulieu (Swampscott, Mass.) closed out her career on Saturday with 24 points, five rebounds and five assists in a NESCAC Championship quarterfinal loss at Middlebury. In a 1-1 week for the Bobcats, she averaged 25.0 points, 6.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 60.6 percent from the field and 52.6% behind the arc.
For the second time in her career, Beaulieu tied Bates’ team record for 3-pointers in a game, with six, in the Middlebury game, while extending her own career record for threes to 206 — 56 more than any other player in team history. She also established the team single-season record for threes, finishing with 64 on the year to pass Lauren Dubois’ former record of 60 set in the 2003-04 season. Beaulieu finishes her career with 1,170 points, passing Lisa Kelley ’86 (1,166) into seventh place on Bates’ all-time points list.
