LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates sophomore forward Nina Davenport received First Team All-State honors on Wednesday, as the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced its year-end awards.
Davenport (Freeport, Maine) is the youngest player to earn first team honors, joining Bowdion senior and Player of the Year Shannon Brady, St. Joseph's senior Morgan Cahill, University of New England junior Alicia Brown and Colby senior Carylane Wolfington. Davenport was named Maine Rookie of the year by the MWBCA one year ago.
The 5-foot-11 Davenport led Bates in scoring (15.6 points per game) and steals per game (1.5), while shooting .332 on 3-pointers and .800 from the free-throw line. She ranked second on the team in rebounding, with 7.3 boards per game. Davenport ranked fourth in the NESCAC in scoring average, 11th in rebounding and 15th in steals.
Davenport's 67 3-pointers broke the former team record of 64 set by Allie Beaulieu in 2013, as did her 202 three-point attempts.
