HADLEY, Mass. -- The Bates College women's lacrosse team landed three players on the 2011 NESCAC All-Conference Team, announced Wednesday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference. Junior midfielder Jenna Dannis (Milford, N.H.), sophomore defender Linnea Fulton (Bristol, R.I.) and junior attacker Joan O'Neill (Westwood, Mass.) all earned All-NESCAC Second Team honors.

It is the second All-NESCAC award for both Dannis and O'Neill and the first for Fulton.

Dannis, who garnered Third Team All-America and First Team All-NESCAC honors a year ago, once again was among the few midfielders in the conference able to make a big difference at both ends of the field, reaching career highs in goals (28), assists (10) and draw controls (56). Dannis led the NESCAC in draw controls per game (3.73) and ranked fourth in caused turnovers per game (1.67), 17th in points per game (2.53), tied for 15th in goals per game (1.87), and tied for fifth in free-position goals per game (0.60).

Fulton, an IWLCA All-Region as a rookie last year, had an even better sophomore season. The tirelessly quick and disruptive defender totaled 36 ground balls, 32 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers. She ranked eighth in the conference in draw controls per game (2.00) and tied for ninth in the conference in ground balls.

In 15 games, the explosive O'Neill led the conference in points per game (4.67) while setting team records for points (70) and assists (26) in a single season. She also has already tied former teammate Morgan Maciewicz '10 for the team's all-time assists standard, with 50. O'Neill ranked second in the NESCAC in goals per game (2.93) and fourth in assists per game (1.73), and also tied for the conference lead in free-position goals (11).
