LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates women's lacrosse standouts Camille Belletete, Drew Barry and Allison Dewey were all named to IWLCA All-Pilgrim Region teams Friday by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association.
Belletete (Jaffrey, N.H.), who was a Second Team IWLCA All-Region pick in 2016 and a Second Team All-NESCAC selection this season, produced another outstanding all-around season for the Bobcats, who finished the season with a 7-8 record. The athletic and tirelessly aggressive two-way standout led Bates in goals (33), assists (8), points (41) and draw controls (57). She was also ranked second on the team in ground balls (28) and third in caused turnovers (15). Belletete ranked second in the conference in draw controls after ranking first in that category a year ago. She is 12th in the league in both goals and points
Barry (Portland, Maine), who was third on the Bobcats in points in 2016, moved from midfield to defense early in the 2017 campaign. The senior captain ranked second on the team in caused turnovers (23), while also tallying four goals, three assists and 16 ground balls.
Dewey (Vergennes, Vt.) receives her second consecutive All-Region honor following another exceptional season at midfield. She led the Bobcats in ground balls (36) and caused turnovers (27). Dewey was also second on the Bobcats in goals (23), points (25) and draw controls (33).
The IWLCA honored 256 student-athletes in Division III with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2017. These student-athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-America teams, which will be announced on Friday, May 19. The IWLCA All-American Banquet takes place on Saturday June 3, 2017 in Hunt Valley, Md.
