Women's squash dominates Colby, 9-0

LEWISTON, Maine -- The No. 9 Bates women's squash team easily defeated NESCAC rival No. 22 Colby 9-0 at a home match Wednesday night. The Bobcats swept the Mules with a perfect nine straight 3-0 games. Bates remains undefeated against Colby, their last loss to the Mules occuring on Feb. 7, 2001.

With contributions from top to bottom, the win proved to be a complete team victory. First-year Nessrine Ariffin (Penang, Malaysia) continues to dominate in the No. 1 spot, extending her undefeated run to 11-0 on the season. Junior Cheri-Ann Parris (St. Philip, Barbados) followed Ariffin's lead, easily getting past Colby's Molly Parsons in the No. 2 spot in the ladder.

First-years Myriam Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.), Chloe Mitchell  (Chatham, N.J.), Lesea Bourke (Greenwich, Conn.), and Rokya Samake (New York, N.Y.) joined sophomores Samantha Matos (New York, N.Y.) and Rakey Drammeh (New York, N.Y.), and junior Alison Bragg (Darien, Conn.) to complete the swep.

Bates (9-3) travels to play at St. Lawrence University at 11am on Saturday.
