Alexova and Arjoon combine to go 5-3 at the women's squash individual championships

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Bates first-years Kristyna Alexova and Vicky Arjoon dropped their final two matches on Sunday but came away with a combined 5-3 record at their first College Squash Association Individual Championships.

Playing against some of the best collegiate women's squash players in the nation, Alexova (Boskovice, Czech Republic) won her first three matches on Friday and Saturday in Holleran Division (C) before dropping her match with Columbia's Tanvi Khanna 3-0 (11-9, 11-8. 11-7) on Sunday.

Alexova finishes her debut season as a first team All-NESCAC selection with an outstanding 21-5 record. 

Arjoon (Georgetown, Guyana) bounced back from dropping her opening match at nationals to win her next two matches before falling 3-1 (11-5, 11-9, 7-11, 11-2) to Williams' Hayley Parsons on Sunday in the Holleran Division (D) Consolation final. 

She finishes her debut season as a second team All-NESCAC selection with a record of 17-9.

Sunday's matches officially conclude the 2015-2016 Bates women's squash season.
