HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Bates women's team scored a 7-2 NESCAC victory at Trinity College on Sunday, as senior Elizabeth Erbafina, first-year Isabelle Rovinski and senior Kate Rosenthal all went 2-0 on the day.

The match was Bates' (4-10, 2-4 NESCAC) first against the Bantams since a 9-0 loss at Trinity in 2014, and it snaps the Bobcats' six-match losing skid. Trinity dropped to 5-4 on the season and 0-2 in NESCAC play.

Erbafina (Sudbury, Mass.) and Rovinski (New York, N.Y.) teamed up for an 8-4 victory over Ania Aliev and Krista Jiranek at No. 2 doubles, while Rosenthal (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and first-year Lauren Hernandez (Chester, N.J.) defeated Jane Weber and Jillian Winer 8-6 at No. 3 doubles. The wins allowed Bates to take a 2-1 lead into singles play, after junior Maisie Silverman (Brunswick, Maine) and sophomore Bella Stone (Concord, Mass.) accepted an 8-0 loss to Vanja Babunski and Julia Brogan at first doubles.

Babunski defeated Silverman at No. 1 singles, but the Bobcats swept their opponents from No. 2 to No. 6 in singles play, all in straight sets.

Erbafina defeated Brogan 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2, Stone defeated Jiranek 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3, Rovinski prevailed 7-5, 7-5 over Winer at No. 4; Rosenthan downed Aliev 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5, and at No. 6, senior Olivia Voccola (Falmouth, Maine) scored a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Weber.

Bates will next host Wheaton (Mass.) College on Friday, April 21 at 4pm.
