BOSTON -- Three members of the Bates women's indoor track and field team entered the team's top-10 all-time performance lists with their performances Friday night at the all-divisions Valentine Invitational at Boston University.
Sophomore Angeleque Hartt (Bronx, N.Y.) had a breakthrough race in the 200 meters, winning her heat in 26.52 seconds to enter Bates' all-time top 10 performance list in the event at seventh place, just behind Dana Lindauer '11 (26.36). Senior Lizzie Carleton (Westborough, Mass.) also entered the top 10, right behind Hartt at No. 8, with her time of 26.59 seconds.
In the 500 meters, sophomore Abby Alexander (Harvard, Mass.) also entered Bates' all-time top 10 performance list with her time of 1:21.00, moving ahead of Lindauer into eighth place on a list topped by her sister, Izzy Alexander '09. Alexander, Hartt and Carleton all qualified for the ECAC Division III Indoor Championships, March 2 at the New York Armory.
In other meet highlights, junior Lisa Reedich (Harvard, Mass.) recorded a personal best time of 5:18.29 in the mile, and first-year Erica Gagnon (Weymouth, Mass.) qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the 1,000 meters, at 3:11.66.
Bates will compete in the distance medley relay race on Saturday at the meet, while other team members will compete at the Tufts Invitational.
