Volleyball seeks NESCAC win at Middlebury weekend

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- The Bates College volleyball team began play at a NESCAC weekend at Middlebury College on Friday night, losing to the host Panthers 30-16, 30-13, 30-16.

Middlebury raised its overall record to 11-6 and its NESCAC record to 3-1 with the win.

Sophomore Liz Leberman (Concord, N.H.) had a team-high seven kills for the Bobcats to go with 11 digs. Senior Brittany Clement (Gobles, Mich.) led Bates with 15 assists and 12 digs, while sophomore Elise Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) chipped in with 10 digs.

Bates (5-16, 0-4 NESCAC) continue play at Middlebury tomorrow with matches against Williams at 11 a.m. and Hamilton at 4 p.m.
