Volleyball team defeated at NESCAC weekend

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- The Bates College volleyball team dropped a pair of NESCAC matches at Middlebury College on Saturday, falling to both Williams and Hamilton by 3-0 scores.

The Bobcats (5-18, 0-6 NESCAC) next play at home against in-state and conference rival Colby Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Bates sophomores Liz Leberman (Concord, N.H.), Elise Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and Kira Kramlich (San Francisco, Calif.) stood out for Bates in the Williams match, which the Bobcats lost by scores of 30-18, 30-28 and 30-10. Leberman had eight kills and 16 digs, Edmonson added eight assists and 13 digs and Kramlich had nine more digs.

Leberman had a team-high eight kills with nine digs against Hamilton, which defeated Bates by scores of 30-24, 30-17 and 30-22. Senior Brittney Clement had 13 assists, Edmonson added six kills and 13 assists, and sophomore Brit Johnston (Winter Park, Colo.) added 11 digs.
