Volleyball team opens NESCAC weekend at Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Bates College volleyball team fell to Wesleyan University 3-0 Friday night at Colby College, in the Bobcats' first match of a three-match NESCAC weekend at Colby.

The Cardinals won their three games by scores of 30-21, 30-16, 30-18, raising their record to 2-1, 1-0 NESCAC.

Bates (1-4, 0-1 NESCAC) received nine kills and 11 digs from sophomore Liz Leberman (Concord, N.H.), 13 assists and five digs from senior Brittany Clement (Gobles, Mich.) and six kills and 11 assists from sophomore Elise Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill.). Sophomore Tess Dokus (Salem, Conn.) also had six kills.

Bates continues play at Colby tomorrow with matches against Connecticut College (1:30 p.m.) and Trinity College (4 p.m.).
