Gee, Getsinger collect match highs in kills in loss to Hamilton

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Bates volleyball team fell by a 3-0 score to NESCAC rival Hamilton College on Friday night at Williams College. The Continentals (9-7, 1-5 NESCAC) prevailed by set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-16.

Bates (2-13, 0-5) senior captain Chrissy Gee (San Francisco, Calif.) and first-year Emma Getsinger (Darien, Conn.) tied with a match-high seven kills apiece. First-year Tess Walther (Santa Monica, Calif.) passed out a match-high 22 assists, and junior Nicole Russell (Boca Raton, Fla.) led the Bobcats with 13 digs.

Hamilton committed just seven attack errors, compared to 27 for Bates, and also had a big 9-1 edge in team blocks.

Standout performers for the Continentals included junior Ali Martella (3 kills, 5 aces, 6 blocks), junior Amanda Cohen (six kills), sophomore Meredith Nuber (three kills, six blocks), and freshman Anna Brown (three aces, 18 digs).

Bates plays the host Ephs in Williamstown on Saturday at 11 a.m. The match can be viewed via live video webcast.
