Women's cross country finishes 11th at ECAC Championships

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Bates College placed 11th out of 35 teams Saturday at the ECAC Division III Women's Cross Country Championships, hosted by Williams College.

Senior Rachel Judson (Denver, Colo.) led the Bobcats over the 6-kilometer course at Mount Greylock High School in 24:36, good for 48th place overall out of 242 competitors. Some of Bates' top runners were held out of the race in preparation for next Saturday's New England Championships.

First-year Alison Leonard (North Granby, Conn.) was right behind Judson with a 51st place time of 24:37. Rounding out Bates' top seven runners were first-year Ngoc Pham (Sharon, Mass.) in 67th, sophomore Andie Bisceglia (Durham, Conn.) in 76th, junior Caroline Ginsberg (Belfast, Maine) in 87th, senior Erin Bougie (New Sweden, Maine) in 94th and sophomore Allie Goldstein (Needham, Mass.) in 129th.

Bates will compete at New Englands next Saturday, Nov. 11 at Springfield College.
