GRAFTON, Mass. -- The Bates college women's cross country team demonstrated excellent depth in finishing fifth at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational.
The Bobcats finished their top seven runners before any other team. They were led junior Esther Kendall's (Ridgeway, Ontario) 11th-place finish of 20:46.92 over the 5-kilometer course.
The Bobcats packed well behind Kendall with sophomore Jennifer Mitton (Reistertown, Md.) finishing 13th, with a time of 20:58.35; junior Katie Bash (Wallingford, Pa.) finishing 18th, with a time of 21.10.75; senior Allie Goldstein (Needham, Mass.) finishing 19th, with a time of 21:17.42; sophomore Chloe Bourne (Litchfield, Conn.) finishing 23rd, with a time of 21.22.35; first-year runner Jennifer Monsulick (Readfield, Maine) finishing 28th, with a time of 21:31.66; and sophomore Elizabeth Rowley (Evanston, Ill.) finishing 29th, with a time of 21:35.69.
Tufts' Stephanie McNamara took individual meet honors with a time of 19:24.39.
The Bobcats will be running next at the Wesleyan Invitational in two weeks.
