    Bates first-year Abby Hamilton was named ECAC Division III North Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week on Wednesday after her outstanding performance at the Maine State Meet on Saturday.

    The No. 14 nationally ranked Bates women's cross country team placed seven runners in the top 11, including a team-record four all-state performances, as the Bobcats won the Maine State Meet for the second straight year Saturday at Bowdoin College.

    The No. 15 nationally ranked Bates women's cross country team had its top four runners place among the top six finishers out of 221 overall, and the Bobcats cruised past No. 16 RPI and 15 other teams Saturday in the Saratoga Invitational.

    Senior captain Katherine Cook crossed the finish line first as the No. 25 nationally ranked Bates women's cross country team finished second to No. 11 Tufts while outscoring WPI and Wellesley on Saturday at the Bates Invitational, held at Pineland Farms.
