Strength and Conditioning Mission Statement

Bates College Strength and Conditioning works to create strong, fit and explosive student athletes while simultaneously preserving or enhancing our students' quality of movement and reducing time lost to injury. Focusing on both strength and movement quality in the weight room ensures our athletes are optimally prepared to excel at the highest levels of collegiate competition. We concentrate heavily on variations of the Olympic lifts as well as full body compound exercises in both bilateral and unilateral forms.
